Saturday Stand-Up Meeting | InspireNC Teaching Workshop | 2021 Registration

Saturday Meeting & FTC Updates

As usual, we are holding an InspireNC meeting next Saturday, February 20th, 2020 from 2:30 to 3:30 PM. This will serve to provide important updates regarding our organization, FIRST programs, and InspireNC outreach. To join the meeting, please visit the link here: https://meet.google.com/mwm-xchs-xnz

This meeting will be especially important for FTC team members, as important logistics regarding the safe return to the INC workshop for FTC work will be discussed; Make sure to tune in! Furthermore, FTC team members have received additional details regarding this process; more details can alternatively be found in the team drive. Exciting Stuff!

A reminder that InspireNC Meetings are now once every two weeks. We will be holding mandatory InspireNC Meetings on the first Saturday of every month. All members are required to attend, as we will be providing various organization-wide updates! Program-specific meetings will occur on a more frequent basis. For updates on your programs, make sure to stay updated on slack, and any emails from your program representatives.

As we continue our meetings this season, we would love to have your feedback regarding meeting structure, program activities, etc. If you would like to provide us with some feedback/suggestions, please fill out this form: https://forms.gle/hdGgMSAPcwSTksiH6.

Thanks to all those who have come to Bafoonery Break (our weekly free time at the beginning of Saturday Meetings)! It's been great fun connecting with the InspireNC community! If you have any ideas for future Bafoonery Breaks, go ahead and fill out this form: https://forms.gle/c8yG91bxZW4BkQeg6

Finally, if you would like to add the InspireNC calendar to your personal Google calendars, you may do so using the following link: https://calendar.google.com/calendar/u/0?cid=aW5zcGlyZW5jQGluc3BpcmVuYy51cw

This calendar includes all the important events taking place throughout InspireNC, so adding it to your personal calendars will ensure that you don't miss out on any important events!

InspireNC Teaching Workshops

Starting from our next meeting on February 20th, we will be introducing a new activity to InspireNC: InspireNC Teaching Workshops. These workshops are part of a new teaching initiative that we hope to run under InspireNC as a consistent long-term project during all large team meetings in the future. These student-led and instructed workshops offer great opportunities for people to learn some new skills as well as learn what it takes to be on the other side of the classroom!

The InspireNC Teaching Workshops are taught by members of InspireNC on a volunteer basis on any informative topic: How to use Computer-Aided Design, How to use Adobe Photoshop, How to solve a Rubik's cube, etc. Within a 30-45 minute time frame, a member or a group of members may present an instructional workshop on their chosen topic, helping students at any level learn their topic at a basic level that may be expanded upon in future workshops. These workshops will occur at every InspireNC Mandatory and Stand-up Meeting (see the previous section for details on these meetings) after the main InspireNC updates have concluded.
