IC2 error on load

Howdy

I have downloaded IC2 and have a license but when Intellij IDEA loads I get the message:  "Could not initialize class com.illuminatedcloud.intellij.license.LicenseValidator". 

Yesterday I got the message but it managed to continue on and I validated my IC2 license, had issues with resolving some base SF classes but managed to work on. This morning I get the message and the project won't load.

Yet have the same installed on my home pc and its all working fine.

If I disable IC2 and go back to IC everything works as it should.

Any ideas?

Hi, Cain. I have a few questions that should help us get to the answer.

First, how did you install IC2? Just making sure you didn't download the archive and extract it or something. I'm assuming you installed it via the integrated plugin repository?

Second, what version of IC1 do you have installed? You need at least version 1.8.1.3 (current is 1.8.1.4) installed if you want to switch back and forth between IC1 and IC2. Otherwise you'll get some nasty errors at IDE startup.

Third, can you confirm that when IC2 fails like this, IC1 is completely disabled? This is related to the previous question because IC 1.8.1.3+ will automatically detect both being installed and enabled and help you pick one. If you're on an earlier version of IC1 it's possible you just keep running into the issue of having both enabled at startup.

If those don't get you to the answer, please email me your idea.log (Help>Show Log in Explorer/Finder/Files) and hopefully I can see the issue quickly.

I installed it via the plugin repository.

IC updated this morning to 1.8.1.4.  

When it fails to load with IC2, IC is unticked in the plugins list.. Yesterday after i installed IC2 and restarted I was prompted which IC i wanted to run.

Hmm. curiously Show Log in Explorer is not working but I think I found the log file. I will email it to you

I have upgraded IntelliJ from 2019 to 2020.1.3. Illuminated Cloud 2 plugin was working find with IntelliJ2019 version but after upgrade to 2020, I am getting error at launch "Could not initialize class com.illuminatedcloud.intellij.license.LicenseValidator"
