Hi,

Sometimes I see a strange behavior in Salesforce DX:

- `sf project deploy start` succeeds
- but “push metadata” (e.g. from IDE / source tracking) fails
- this seems to happen more often after running a metadata pull

At the moment, my workaround is:
- recreate the scratch org
- move the project to the new scratch org

It works, but obviously not ideal.

Has anyone experienced this before?
Is there a known cause or a better way to recover source tracking state without recreating the scratch org?

Thanks!

Scott

Hi. The best thing to do is to enable debug logging for Metadata Deployment, Metadata Retrieval, and Salesforce DX, then the next time this happens, provide the resulting idea.log file for review so I can see what operations are being executed. Note that when IC starts a push, it also tries to find the associated deployment job on a background thread so that it can provide better status information. My guess is that's what's happening, but it would be good to see the CLI failure to see if the logic for finding that job might be short-circuited in some situations.
