I'm new to IntelliJ and I'm wondering does it have a minimap view of the whole file like SublimeText3 does?

I did a quick google search and found a plugin, but before I install it I wanted to know if I've just missed an out-of-the-box setting or what's the recommended approach here.

Thanks!

Posting here since I accidentally replied directly via email first time:

You have the right of it.  It's not a built-in feature but that plugin is what folks use who want access to a minimap.  I haven't tried it personally but I'd be interested to hear from you how well it matches your expectations based on what you've seen in MM.

It works just like the one in SublimeText 3 with one difference.

In SublimeText, when I click anywhere in the rectangle in below screenshot, which represents the area of the file shown in the editor, scrolling does not occur until I actually begin to drag that section with my mouse.

In IntelliJ, wherever my mouse clicks on the right sidebar, even if within that red rectangle area, the editor makes immediate scroll adjustment to that precise location.

That subtle instant scroll by IntelliJ is something I'm learning to adjust to, quite jarring to be honest, but I like having that very wide scroll-bar thingy... so... guess I'll learn to love it =)

You might ping the author to see if (s)he'd consider making that a configurable option.  I can't imagine that'd be a hard change to implement.

Good suggestion. Apparently that was a recent change (last couple weeks) and there's already a feature request on the github project https://github.com/Vektah/CodeGlance/issues/187

Thanks
