Opening an existing IC project, I'm getting this:

Invalid configuration for module 'XYZ'
Module 'XYZ': The following must be configured properly:
module must have a configured connection

Full resolution of these items may require multiple steps.
Resolve  Ignore (show balloon)

I've tried going into module settings and selecting different connections, but I keep getting the error message. Restarting doesn't seem to help either. What else should I try to resolve this?

thanks!

Jeremy, I assume the answer is yes, but have you tried clicking "Resolve"?  If so, in addition to selecting the connection in the module, can you try setting it the other way around...selecting the connection from the module?  You can do that in the connection configuration screen by expanding the Advanced section:

I think there may be a bug that doesn't push one of these into the other right now.  I'll check that out.  Let me know if you have the connection and module associated in both places and it's still giving you that message and I'll help you figure out what's going on.

Regards,
Scott

Through some combination of selecting the connection from the module, selecting module from the connection, and removing/adding connections, I seem to have resolved it.

Score 1 point for jiggle things around until it works.

Thanks :)

Hi Scott,

This has been happening to me, too.  Seems like it happens with projects that have multiple packages.  It even happens when I manually set the Development Package in the connection to a specific module, just like what you've specified in your screenshot.

Has something changed in a recent release that would have caused this?

Okay, I see how/why this particular issue could occur.  Basically it happens when more than one connection is configured for a single module.  I need to give a more specific message and automated resolution.  I'll take care of that.  Thanks for providing the info!

Hah!  At a closer glance, I actually already have everything set up to deal with this properly in the module validator...I just call the wrong setter when I detect the state.  Testing now, but it looks like a one line change should put this one to bed.

Hello Jeremy,

I am having this problem, too.  Could you be a little more specific about how you resolved this issue?  I had to do a clean re-install of IntelliJ IDEA; I'm now on 2016.2.,4.  I successfully installed the Illuminated Cloud plugin but when I try to setup a project I can't seem to communicate with the network when I click the Test button.  Can you tell me specifically what steps you took to get your projects working?

Thanks,
Rick Baker

Rick, do you mind looking at the last comment I added here:

and sending over that diagnostic information?  It will help me understand exactly what's going on when this is happening.  Also, can you elaborate on "can't seem to communicate with the network"?  What kind of error is being reported?  Are there any more details in the log (Help>Show Log in Explorer/Finder)?

Scott
