Can someone please tell me why this is happening?
The status is stuck on Pending when I try to retrieve the code. I tried setting up the connection again, I created a new project and retrieved the code properly when the new project was created, but I am not able to retrieve the code again.

This is only happening in a single sandbox. I can deploy and retrieve data without any issues on other orgs.

I noticed this problem after I saw this today, and I clicked automatically. But I did it for the other orgs as well, and didnt see a problem. I also updated to 2023.1.1 so im not sure if thats a problem as well.

Hi. The notification about Windows Defender is just the JetBrains IDE trying to help ensure that the OS' antivirus isn't negative impacting access to project files and indices and is unrelated to anything Illuminated Cloud-/Salesforce-specific. You can find more information here:

As for deployment and/or retrieval jobs being stuck in a Pending state, that's happening entirely in the Salesforce servers. Illuminated Cloud (and any other client of the Salesforce APIs) queues a deployment or retrieval job and then polls the status of that job until completion (or cancellation). You can see this happening in detail by enabling debug logging for those respective actions and looking at the activity in the IDE's idea.log file. Depending on the project type and metadata objects included in the request, what you'll see is either a direct API request or an execution of the Salesforce CLI followed by a series of status polling requests.

Typically these types of queueing issues are transient and short-lived, though if it continues to happen, you would need to log a support request with Salesforce, providing your org ID and likely one or more job IDs for deployment/retrieval jobs that spent long periods of time in a pending/submitted state. Those job IDs are available in the same idea.log file if requested.

I hope that helps. Please let me know if you have other questions.

Regards,
Scott Wells
