custom package xml creation.

Basically something that would leverage the deploy retrieve screen allowing us to check checkboxes based on what we want in the metadata subscription and then just generate a custom package.xml with what we selected.

similar to this vs code plugin

I would say in general this functionality would be rather useless... but I have a client that needs a package.xml with each commit... don't ask. For now I can hop back and forth between webstorm and vs code, but it you be nice to have it all in one place.

thanks!
Chris

Hi, Chris. Feel free to log an enhancement request in the public issue tracker. That will ensure that it remains on the backlog vs. here which is intended for more back-and-forth discussion.

Hi Scott, I remember at some point that the package.xml file would show according to subscription or complete Org? In any event, I work with IC2 all the time, but am in need to deliver projects in VS Code hive format, thus the need to create a manifest. Is there any interim way to generate a manifest with IC2 that I can use in VS Code to retrieve and deploy?  Thanks, -Roy

Sure. Assuming your project is configured for a package.xml-based metadata subscription, just clear out the existing package.xml then right-click on your project and click Illuminated Cloud>Add to Metadata Subscription and IC will populate it based on the project's contents.

Regards,
Scott
