I have an existing non-dx IC project. I went to test the any org setup using a new dx project.

 I checked generate manifest like the video said. I immediately got an error:

"Failed to create the Salesforce DX Project: A name parameter is required to create a storage"

sfdx --version

sfdx-cli/7.101.0 darwin-x64 node-v16.0.0

IC version 2.1.7.6
Idea Version: 2021.1.1 Ultimate Edition

So after giving up on this, i went back to my normal project and when i was trying to compare a file against the server, i got a red popup in the lower left corner that says:

5:20 PM Retrieve Failed

Failed to retrieve metadata.

Status: FAILED

Message: NoOrgFound

No org configuration found for name {my username}

So i clicked on my connection name in the bottom right, and i do not see my list of connections anymore. I only see one connection, which is an oauth connection. I restarted idea as well, same thing. Any of you seen this?

It sounds to me like your CLI is in a bad state. I would recommend that you completely uninstall and reinstall the CLI. I've already helped to individuals this week who were having issues that were solved by doing so, and I've personally reinstalled my own CLI after it started to exhibit strange behavior. Unfortunately it seems that can happen after repeated in-place upgrades. I've let some folks on the CLI team know about this.

If that doesn't resolve these issues, I'd need to see the how the CLI is being invoked and its resulting output. You can enable debug logging for Salesforce DX and it'll capture the full invocation/output of each CLI command. Please reproduce these issues with debug logging enabled and send over your idea.log (Help>Show Log in Finder) to sup...@illuminatedcloud.com for review.
