Suggestions for Apps training topics?

Hello All,

The last several weeks OTS has been running introductory training sessions on the core Google apps: Mail, Calendar, Docs/Drive, Sites, and Groups.  We'd like to have some more advanced training sessions and want to know what topics would be important to the IIT community.  What would you like to know more about?

We'll be running a second intro session on Groups and Sites soon, keep an eye out on IIT Today and I'll send a message here as well.

Using Google Groups for mailing students would be a great topic. The IC would like to use Google Groups to send emails to our F-1, J-1 students and J-1 scholars but it's not easy to get the email addresses into the membership list. So far all I get is errors and messages telling me to reload the list.

 

Using Google forms as a tool for your office, and possibly as surveys would be great too.

Hi Tanya and team,

Great suggestion, we're working on a schedule for re-doing the intro to Mail and Drive sessions, and Forms has been on a lot of people's minds.

As for specific errors with using the Groups app the IIT Support Desk (suppo...@iit.edu, 7-DESK) is the best team that can help you and help reach out to Google for advanced problems.  I'll also contact you offline.
