Dear All,
Please find the details of Thursday's T-talk.
Speaker: Dr. Rakesh Chaturvedi
Abstract:
I will discuss the notion of CURB (Closed Under Rational Behavior) Sets
in Game Theory as a set-theoretic coarsening of the idea of Nash
Equilibrium and as a refinement of the idea of Rationalizability. I
will talk about the possibility of using this as the basis of inventing a
solution concept that attempts to define stable behavior when players
may act in a coordinated way as part of a coalition but coalitions act
independently of one another. On a different note, I will talk about
market failure in an environment where trade involves land acquisition
from many independent owners. I will lay out the model framework in
which we can think about how to improve market outcomes in terms of some
agreed upon desiderata.
