Dear all,
Please find below the details of Friday's talk.
Speaker: Varun Ramanathan
Abstract: A distributed system is a network of autonomous computers that can communicate and work together. There are many challenges associated with building fault-tolerant distributed systems and reasoning about them rigorously. A very important problem is "consensus in distributed systems", in which we aim to make the computers on a network agree to do the same thing coherently. In the talk, we will discuss the importance of consensus in distributed systems, different algorithms for consensus and the future of consensus.
The talk will be accessible to all, and students from all batches are encouraged to attend.
Venue: C11
Time: 1 pm - 2 pm, 26 October 2018
