Please do not worry. We will take this up with the concerned persons.

My understanding is that you will be promoted to second year from first year in all first year courses.

I will confirm on Monday after clarification from the concerned.

Till then, please study your 3rd and 4th sem courses well.

Best wishes,

Session— July 2019

Why Didn't IGNOU Release Online Option Form To Opt. Exemption From Appearing In The Term End Examination While IGNOU Mentioned This Statement Before And IGNOU Promoted Students On The Basis Of Exam Form That Students Had Opted For.(IGNOU had already clearly mentioned in the Notice
 F.No.: IG/SED/Ex-III/Prom./1220/2436 Dated December 16,2020.)
SEE The Attached Files.
IGNOU Had Also Clearly Mentioned In That Notification, That Students Will Be Promoted Without Filling The Exam Form And Students Will Be Promoted On Basis Of Their Courses They Opted For During Admission/Re-Registration In July 2019 Session.

🔴But Now IGNOU Directly Promoted Students Without Releasing The  Online Option Form.

🔴Problem Arose Before Students Of July Session 2019 After This Type Of Injustice By IGNOU.

1. IGNOU Promoted Students On The Basis Of Exam Form That Students Had Opted For In June/Dec TEE And Released Hall Ticket For Every Students.

🔴Hence Students Promoted On The Basis Of Exam Form That Students Had Opted For Not On The Basis Of Courses Opted By Students During Admission. AS A Result Students Couldn't Get Promotion To Their Respective Next Year.

2. Students Who Had Not Filled The Exam Form, Their Hall Ticket Didn't Released.

THIS STEP OF IGNOU IS NOT SHOWING GOOD.

🔴🔴🔴 REQUEST (OR) DEMAND...
PLEASE RELEASE ONLINE OPTION FORM TO OPT. EXEMPTION FROM APPEARING IN THE TERM END EXAMINATION AND GIVE PROMOTION TO EACH AND EVERY ELIGIBLE STUDENTS OF JULY SESSION 2019 TO THEIR RESPECTIVE NEXT YEAR.

Dear Students,
Please understand the IGNOU system.
  1. There is no such thing as promoting to first year, second year, third year etc.  Whether you clear all the courses for the first year or not, you will have to register for the
second year.  Similarly for the second and third years. For those courses that you didn't clear you can appear in the term end examination in the subsequent years.
  2. You have not been promoted to second year.  You still have to pass the first year courses.  You have only been exempted from appearing in
the examinations for the first year.
  3. The exemption is automatic. That is why there is no online  exemption form.   The exemption works this way.
Your assignment mark for the first semester will be on the  basis of the assignment
you have submitted in the first semester.  However, the Term End Marks for the first semester will be based on the Term End marks in the third semester.
Similarly, for the second semester, your Term End marks will be based on the marks you get in the fourth semester and the assignment marks will
be based on the assignment you submit in the second semester.    The FAQ here
     http://www.ignou.ac.in/userfiles/FAQs%20(1).pdf
    gives the details.
  4.  However, if you want to appear for the examination and don't want to avail this
exemption, you can still do so by filling the online examination form.  The last date is 31-1-2021. In fact I strongly advise you to appear for
the examination because the Mathematics courses in the third and fourth semesters are more difficult than the first and second semester courses
and by appearing for the examinations for the first year courses you will get better marks.
Hope this clarifies things.

Best,

Dear learner,

My communication to you is correct in my understanding.

If you do not wish to, you need not appear in the examinations of 1st and 2nd semester courses of BSCG as per the notification.

This means that now you can give exams of 3rd and 4th semesters whenever those are scheduled for you.

Your marks for 1st and 2nd semester courses will be based on what you score in the 3rd and 4th semester.

Hopefully you have studied the courses in 1st and 2nd semesters well as without that, you may find it difficult to study the courses in later semesters.

It is entirely up to you to give or not give exams of the 1st and 2nd semesters.

The University in my understanding has given you exemption in ALL courses irrespective of whether you have filled exam form for them or not, which means you need not appear if you don't want to.

This is equivalent to being promoted to the second year as per the UGC directions.

The final clarification on the matter will be issued by the Division concerned that issued the original notification, hopefully on Monday, 1st February, 2021.

Best wishes,

Vijayshri
