Example 16.2 block 4 page 21

X=0.01cos4pi (t+0.0625)

In solution they are comparing this equation of position of an oscillator by

X=a sin(omega t + phi)

How they are comparing both these equation and solving

Also Mam I am confused in position of SHM 
X(t) = a sin(wt+phi)

Also 
X(t) = a cos (wt+Phi)
Which one is correct 
If both are correct then how
And where we use first one and where we have to use second one.
Totally confused

It should have been compared with Eq. (16.6c), not Eq. (16.6b) because that is how the Example proceeds.

Note that Eq. (16.6c) has the cosine function.

This is a printing error.
