Dear Americas family, We are beyond excited to open the call for the IFMSA Delegation to the Forum of the Countries of Latin America and the Caribbean on Sustainable Development - Ninth Meeting, taking place from April 13 to 16, 2026, at the headquarters of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) in Santiago, Chile. This is a unique and powerful opportunity to represent 1.5 million medical students at one of the most important regional spaces for the follow-up and review of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development: and we want YOU to be part of it.
| About the forum The Forum of the Countries of Latin America and the Caribbean on Sustainable Development is the regional mechanism created to monitor and review the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), their targets, means of implementation, and the Addis Ababa Action Agenda on Financing for Development. The Forum is state-led and open to all countries of Latin America and the Caribbean. Convened under the auspices of ECLAC, it is guided by the principles established by the 2030 Agenda: approved by the UN General Assembly in September 2015. It brings together states, the private sector, civil society organizations, as well as ECLAC subsidiary bodies, development banks, other UN agencies, and regional integration blocs. The Ninth Meeting will be held in person at ECLAC Headquarters in Santiago, Chile, and will serve as a valuable space for peer learning, voluntary reviews, exchange of good practices, and discussion of shared goals toward sustainable development.
