Dear IFMSA members, I am pleased to announce that IFMSA has been invited to participate in the WONCA Asia Pacific Regional Conference 2026, which will take place from March 25th to 27th in Iloilo, Philippines.
What is WONCA? WONCA is short for the World Organization of Family Doctors and is a conference that brings together Family Medicine practitioners, researchers, and other experts in the field of Family Medicine. The theme for this year’s Conference is “Family Physicians Gifted to Give: Hearts that Care for Persons, Family and Community”. This theme will reflect the deep calling of our profession: to serve with generosity, compassion, and a steadfast commitment to holistic care. It honors our roots while embracing the future of family medicine as a cornerstone of people-centered, primary health care. The agenda includes keynote speeches from distinguished experts, interactive panel discussions, and presentations of educational scholarship in this area. WONCA APR 2026 will also be a platform to encourage dialogue and collaboration among healthcare professionals in Family Medicine and cultures. If this branch of medicine is one that interests and excites you, this would be a phenomenal opportunity. To find more information about WONCA APR 2026, please visit the website (LINK) Selection Criteria: All applications will be evaluated based on the following: Only students, or those who have the student status within six months before the meeting, are eligible to apply; Only IFMSA members from active NMOs are eligible to apply; Experience in the topic of the meeting - state your experience in the field of medical education, medical science and global health as they are the most relevant to the theme.
