Dearest IFMSA Family,

I hope this finds you well and thriving.

I am pleased to share with you the call for the IFMSA Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Campaign SWG. The SDGs are set to conclude in 2030, yet the world remains significantly off track on most targets. Progress continues to be undermined by intersecting global crises including conflict, climate change, and widening inequalities. This critical timeline demands accelerated and sustained action.

As a leading global health youth organisation and federation of future health professionals, IFMSA holds a crucial position in advancing the SDGs, particularly at the intersection of health, equity, and human rights. While SDG-related initiatives are ongoing across the Federation, these efforts have largely been fragmented, with no recent coordinated federation-wide approach.

We are aiming for a months-long comprehensive campaign that will:

• Raise awareness and advocate for the SDGs within IFMSA

• Strengthen structured and sustained engagement with the UN/SDGs across the Federation

• Refresh IFMSA’s positioning within the global SDG narrative

We are looking for motivated members who are curious about reimagining and shaping our work through the SDGs, interested in external affairs and global health governance, and committed to strengthening IFMSA’s collective impact. As a member of this SWG, you will engage in research, contribute to content development, build valuable skills and collaborate with other passionate advocates as part of a truly impactful project.

Who Can Apply? 

This call is open to all IFMSA members. 1 coordinators and 4 - 5 members will be selected based on availability, motivation, experience, ideas and follow-up plans, with regional and gender balance considerations.

• Then, apply through this form by the deadline of 3rd March 2025, 23:59 GMT.
