Hello, IFMSA family!!

I have a very special invitation to all of you! Next week, the annual Global Public Health Week, organized by the World Federation of Public Health Associations (WFPHA), is taking place, with full online participation available!

Each year, the Global Public Health Week (GPHW) brings together hundreds of organizations to discuss their efforts, raise awareness on key topics and call for unity in defense of public health across countries and subjects.

From the 6th to the 10th of April, this is your chance to be immersed in public health, this year with a very special topic: Peace for Health, Health for Peace. You can check the full catalog of webinars, roundtables and initiatives on the official website below, each single event has a registration link:

IFMSA will host or co-host some exciting events, and I look forward to your participation in all of them! Here you can check a bit of each one of them:
1st) By IFMSA: Global Roundtable on Youth Representation in Public Health Governance (April 7, 2026, 14 to 16 GMT)
An IFMSA-hosted roundtable between us and some of our greatest partners in public health - discussing youth engagement and participation across their institutions! A can't-miss moment of union and dialogue, I hope to see you there!

2nd) By IFMSA: Digital Health Equity: Modernizing Workforce and Systems for Public Health (April 10, 2026, 13:30 GMT)

In the next few days, we will share the events we are co-hosting with our partners, including the WHO Youth Council, GCHA, Young WFPHA, and more!

Hello, amores!

I hope you have already registered for our webinars! Today, I am here alongside our SCORP-D Queen, Zeliha Tayran, to share one of our partnerships for next week, the Global Public Health Week, the Young WFPHA. Young WFPHA joined with IPSF, IFMSA, Europubhealth, RAES, and the WMA in order to discuss an, unfortunately, emergent topic - Youth for Peace and Health

With increasing geopolitical instability across the globe, the livelihoods and health of millions of ordinary people around the world are being threatened and impacted at an alarmingly rapid pace. For young people, violence and war create multi-fold impacts: from the direct and indirect physical and mental health traumas inflicted during conflicts; the loss of families, caregivers, friends, communities and role models which reverberate for decades afterwards; the vicious cycles of hate, fear and anger that are preyed on by nefarious actors; and the robbing of futures, dreams, and stability following the destruction of homes, towns and cities. War and violence are not actions that the majority of the world wishes to seek; however, they appear when efforts to keep peace are undermined, and the agenda of division and unchecked greed are pushed forward.

Together, the organizations hosting this workshop share the belief that peace is a prerequisite for a healthy world, and that young people are not only recipients but also active participants and future leaders in shaping this global dialogue.

We will wait for your attendance and input on April 9 at 12:00 GMT +1 via Zoom.

Love,
Gustavo and Zeliha
