Subject: TIDAL & NON-TIDAL FORCING IN SSH AND SSSH ESPC-D-V02Hi everyone,
I am currently setting up a regional model using HYCOM (ESPC-D-V02) 1-hourly data as boundary conditions. I have a question regarding the components of the Sea Surface Height (SSH) and Steric SSH (SSSH) provided:
Does the SSH in this dataset represent the total surface elevation, including both tidal forcing and non-tidal factors (such as wind stress, atmospheric pressure/inverse barometer, and density-driven changes)?
Regarding the Steric SSH (SSSH), is it strictly limited to the density-driven component (T and S), and does it inherently exclude all tidal and atmospheric pressure signals?
