Model levels before interpolation in GOFS3.1 Reanalysis

Hi! I have a question about GOFS3.1 Reanalysis.

On the website we can see that the results are interpolated to 41 vertical levels, but on the native grid how many levels does the model have before this interpolation, and what are those levels?

It has 41 hybrid layers in the vertical.  They are defined by its blkdat.input

Near the surface the layers are geo-potential (Zstar), or terrain following when the bathymetry is shallower than 83 m, with isopycnal layers defined by target densities outcropping into these layers.

The long term mean vertical section 0 to 1000m at 180W in the Pacific is:

You can see the fixed depth layers, which are deeper away from the equator and particularly at high latitudes.

For 1000 to 6000m this is:

The deep layers are iso-pycnal except at very high latitudes.
