The Amplitude and Phase of all 8 tidal constituents that are included in ESPC-D-V2 are now available at /datasets/ESPC-D-V02/tides  There is also a PDF of RMS errors vs TPXO10atlas, for example:

The model is using an Augmented State Ensemble Kalman Filter correction, which improves deep water accuracy  by about 1 cm globally and by about 3 cm in the Atlantic.

On improving the accuracy of the M2 barotropic tides embedded in a high-relolution global ocean circulation model

If you are using 3-hrly ESPC-D-V02 as boundary conditions to a regional model you may want to add the difference between these tides and the observed tides at the region boundary.  That approach will let internal tides through the boundary.  An alternative is to apply daily mean fields and add the observed tides at the region boundary, but this will filter internal tides at the open boundary.
