Hi all,

I’m trying to extract cortical thickness values for each ROI using the HCP annot files (163842 vertices, mapped to fsaverage) in FreeSurfer 7.4.1.

So far, I’ve resampled each subject’s lh.thickness/rh.thickness to fsaverage with mri_surf2surf and got .mgh files with matching vertex counts. But whenever I run mris_anatomical_stats with the HCP annot, I repeatedly get freadFloat: fread failed

Has anyone run into similar issues or found a reliable way to compute ROI-wise thickness from HCP annot + fsaverage thickness (especially without the original ROI files)?

Any tips or suggestions would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

I would ask this on the FreeSurfer list.  We can tell you how to do this with Connectome Workbench with HCP cross-platform NIFTI/GIFTI/CIFTI formats, but are not experts in FreeSurfer’s formats.

Matt.
