Hello,

I am running into a visualization issue in Connectome Workbench. Whenever I load surface or volume data (e.g., .surf.gii, .dscalar.nii), the map only appears partially within the viewer. It looks clipped or cut-off, and I cannot get the full brain/map to display.

Steps I have tried so far:

  • View → Reset View (and the R shortcut).

  • Switched Montage layout (Landscape, Single, Row, Column).

  • Zoomed out and panned manually.

  • Changed display mode between Surface, Volume, and Montage.

  • Loaded different files (flatmaps, inflated, midthickness, dscalars). The files open without error messages but still do not render fully in the viewer.

  • Confirmed files are intact and load fine on a different system.

Environment:

  • OS: macOS [Sonoma 14.5]

  • Workbench build: Connectome Workbench 2.0.1

  • Data: HCP S1200 release (e.g., S1200.L/R.midthickness.32k_fs_LR.surf.gii, S1200.myelin.dscalar.nii)

Thank you very much for your help,
Parham

Hi Parham,
Try this:

  • Go to wb_view menu
  • Select Preferences
  • On Preferences dialog, click the Displays tab
  • Set “High DPI Mode” to Auto or On

Best,

Jenn
