Hi,

I am a PhD candidate at the University of Victoria, Canada. I am writing to inquire about accessing the HCP-Development (HCP-D) Release 2.0 resting-state fMRI data.

I currently have approved access to the HCP-Aging dataset, which I have been successfully downloading through BALSA. I would like to extend my access to the HCP-Development dataset to perform validation analyses for my research.

I have two questions regarding the access process:

  1. Since both HCP-Aging and HCP-Development are part of the Lifespan HCP Release 2.0, does my existing HCP-Aging access automatically provide access to HCP-Development, or do I need to submit a separate Data Access Request through the NIH Database of Genotypes and Phenotypes (NDA)?

  2. Could you please provide guidance on the steps required for downloading the dataset as a Canadian student through NIH/NDA? I have not yet been able to successfully complete the login process through my Login.gov account and would appreciate any advice on resolving this issue.(I have an account but it doesnt work on NIH website)

Any guidance you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much for your time and assistance.

Best regards,
Yasaman Shahhosseini

Hi,
BALSA and NDA are separate, unrelated platforms.  Access to one has nothing to do with the other.

Currently, HCP-D is only available through the NDA platform.

The NDA help-desk is your venue to obtain assistance with anything related to setting up your NDA account, completing the NDA Data Use Agreement for the Connectome Coordination Facility (CCF) permission group, and then eventually downloading the data.

Cheers,

-MH
