Template for seed-based analysis

Dear developers,

Could you please indicate which is the right template to define seeds for seed based analysis (e.g. MNI aligned), and where to find it/download it?

An MNI volume template is not a good place to define most human cortical seeds, volume registration doesn't align the variable folding patterns across subjects very well.  Surface-based templates have better and more consistent cross-subject alignment for human cortex, see our paper comparing to volume-based methods to see why:

You might want to use the HCP MMP 1.0 parcellation (this version also has subcortical structure labels):
