Happy New Year, HCP team!
Can you direct me to the QC scripts, i.e. for FLAIR and, if incorporated into any project, for SWI, in particular?
Thanks & cheers,
Andreas
Hi Andreas,
I am not sure what you are asking for. 3D FLAIR can now be used instead of at T2w scan or making myelin maps in the relevant HCP Pipelines. We don’t currently use SWI for any purpose in the
HCP Pipelines.
Matt.
P.S. We have been working on aligning our neuroradiological image acquisitions and analysis techniques with best practices from the HCP for some time now (e.g., a focus on 3D or isotropic imaging, aligning current and prior images for comparisons, motion corrected pre/post contrast subtractions, HCP-Style fMRI acquisitions, distortion corrections, multi-fiber probabilistic tractography). These best practices really make a difference for patient care too.

Hi Matt,
thanks.
I have been looking for relevant QA/QC snips to evaluate the quality of 3D FLAIRs and MPRAGEs recorded.
The goal would be to apply these for QA/QC evaluations (SNR, within-slice and -volume motion, possibly CNR etc.) to scans outside the full HCP processing stream.
I did assume you may not have it for SWI but I thought that there are suitable scripts for FLAIR & MPRAGE, cf. PMID: 237075991

Absolutely. I am part of the German task force to translate the latest MS criteria and MRI recommendations into clinical practice, and this is exactly why I am asking.
We need to push the field into that direction.
Cheers,
Andreas

Hi Andreas,
For that sort of thing we still do manual QC.
Matt.

Hi Andreas,
If you aren't already aware of it, the MRIQC tool can generate some quantitative QC values on structural images:
