Hi,

Would appreciate assistance with the following question:
Are there differences in the 'restricted data' for the old release HCP-Aging Lifespan 2.0 Release (in which access to this data required signing the NDA and access to data was through NIMH Data Archive) and the Aging Adult Brain Connectome(AABC) release2?

From my understanding, the data use terms look very similar and the latest release of AABC through BALSA still covers for the use of the HCP-Aging data, however need to understand whether there are differences in what is deemed 'restricted data' for the two different releases of the data?

Thanks,
Natasha

Hi Natsha,
What "restricted data" are you referring to? HCP-Aging available from NDA was all under the same Data Use Terms and didn't include sensitive data such as drug use/mental health data. The AABC Release 2 Data Use Terms cover all the released non-sensitive data (what is in the BALSA UI and the "XL" CSV available in the Files tab). We are working on a process for users to sign a separate DUA with our research contracts office to obtain more sensitive drug use and mental health data (especially from HCP-Aging) but we don't have it completely set up yet.

For HCP-YA, there are open access and restricted data levels that each have their own data use terms and there is an additional application to get access to restricted data, see https://www.humanconnectome.org/study/hcp-young-adult/data-use-terms

Best,
Jenn
