Batch Downloading?

Hello, is it possible to download data from a particular subject group? I've entered my diagnostic criteria into BALSA and found my subjects, but do I have to download rs-fMRI data for each person individually, or is there an easier way to go about this?

Hi Braeden,
If you have filtered in the "Selected Subjects" section by one or more variable ranges, etc. those filters apply to the "Selected Imaging Packages" listed for queuing below. So, for example in AABC Release 2, if you select for Age in Years = 65, the fraction at the bottom of "Selected Subjects" shows that there are 61 subject sessions of the 2878 total where the participant's age is 65. Then below, "Selected Imaging Packages" shows the # of Sessions available per modality of the 61 subject sessions selected. In this case, 59 of the 61 selected have available structural preprocessed recommended packages.

Note, you can also save your Selected Subject Group that you have set with filters or manually edited by clicking the "Save Custom Subject Group" button.

Please let us know if you have ideas for making all these things clearer for users.

Thanks for the helpful and prompt response! I hadn't noticed that the sizes of the imaging packages changed with the subject groups!

Another quick question while I wait for my files to download: is there a readme or other documentation for the files contained within each subject's package? I'm less familiar with preprocessing, so I'm just trying to figure out what information is contained in each of these files/how they differ:Screenshot from 2026-03-11 16-28-45.png

What are you wanting to do? 

 

${StudyFolder}/${Subject}/MNINonLinear/Results/rfMRI_REST/rfMRI_REST_Atlas_MSMAll_hp2000_clean_rclean_tclean.dtseries.nii is the main file to use for resting state analyses.

Thanks. 

I'm looking to parcellate the data via HCP-MMP, then create pairwise rs-fMRI and structural connectivity matrices for my subjects. I've only figured out how to do perform functional connectivity on my own at this point.

Using the file below you can use wb_command -cifti-parcellate to make the ptseries and then wb_command -cifti-correlation to make the pconn.  Here is the parcellation to use: https://balsa.wustl.edu/file/87B9N
