The split between 5-21 and 22-35 is no longer consistent with recent research. In fact, a massive study from Cambridge (2025) ("Topological turning points across the human lifespan") showed that the adolescent topology extends well beyond age 22 and even into the 30s. This aligns with other large studies in 2025 (such as "Human lifespan changes in the brain's functional connectome"), which showed the same trend: significant changes in the brain persist into the 30s.
This framework of 5-21 and 22-35 must be updated to align with recent, massive studies; for example, a grouping of 5-28 and 29-35 is more appropriate.
