Various post-doctoral positions are available within the Laboratory for Affective and Translational Neuroscience at McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School, directed by Diego A. Pizzagalli, Ph.D.

The laboratory is part of the Center for Depression, Anxiety and Stress Research (CDASR), a vibrant and highly collaborative research center with over 45 scientists/staff/students that embraces a multi-disciplinary approach to improve our understanding of the psychological, environmental, and neurobiological factors associated with depression, anxiety and related disorders across the lifespan (http://cdasr.mclean.harvard.edu/).

Currently ongoing studies in Dr. Pizzagalli’s laboratory focus on reward processing in a range of populations including individuals with current or past major depression, as well as at-risk samples (e.g., individuals exposed to early life stress). These studies employ a variety of approaches, including high-density EEG, fMRI, PET, MRS, computational modeling, and assays of hormonal/inflammatory markers. Upcoming studies will involve neurofeedback approaches relevant to anhedonia and neurobiologically-informed treatment studies in anhedonia. Opportunities will be available to pursue independent research and interdisciplinary collaborations across Harvard Medical School. Depending on research focus, candidates will have access to three research-dedicated human MRI scanners (3 T, 4 T), as well as two high-density EEG systems.

Qualifications: A strong background in functional/structural MRI techniques is required. Clinical training, computational modeling expertise (e.g., machine learning) and/or experience with a second imaging modality are a plus.  Women and minorities underrepresented in neuroscience/medicine are encouraged to apply.

To apply, send a CV, a cover letter describing research interests, as well as names and email addresses of three references to Diego A. Pizzagalli (d...@mclean.harvard.edu). Review of applications will begin immediately.

Joining the job flood, with apologies...

We are pleased to announce a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Neuroinformatics in Child Psychiatry at the UMass Chan Medical School https://ummsjobs.com/job/6994/

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral fellowship position for work within the Division of Neuroinformatics at The Eunice Kennedy Shriver Center at UMass Medical School under the direction of Dr. David N. Kennedy, Professor of Psychiatry and Co-director of the Child and Adolescent NeuroDevelopment Initiative (CANDI), and Director of the Division of Neuroinformatics. The post-doc will work directly with Dr. Kennedy and the Neuroinformatics Team on studying reproducible methods applied to neuroimaging applications in child psychiatry.

This post-doc will work on projects related to NIH funded efforts (ReproNim: Center for Reproducible Neuroimaging Computation; and NITRC - The Neuroimaging Informatics Tools and Resources Collaboratory) and will support investigations using MRI (structural, functional, diffusion, MRS), EEG and fNIRS in the study of typical and atypical development.

Strong applicants will have experience with UNIX-like operating systems and one or more of the following: MATLAB, R, Python, shell scripting. Experience in neuroimaging application tools (such as FreeSurfer, AFNI, FSL, etc.) will also be critical. Experience with version control systems and web design is also a plus. A successful applicant must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Appointments will be made for one year, with a second year re-appointment expected and third year re-appointment possible based on review of the fellow’s progress. Fellowships will be available for start dates as early as October 1, 2021, although there is flexibility. Given restrictions associated with COVID-19, location is flexible, with the possibility of a remote position. The current stipend for first year fellows is commensurate with the standard National Institutes of Health rate and includes eligibility for benefits.

Interested applicants should submit a letter of interest, CV, and list of three references to:
