Hello!

I would like to access the BCP Data from NIMH Data Archive. I already have a valid DUC and a Federal wide Assurance or my University (Germany). However, there is a banner "Packaging, downloading data, and MINDAR databases are currently unavailable." I cannot use the Download Manager and the helpdesk also reiterates this when I ask them about access. The situation has not changed since the last month. Could you please give me an update on the situation as to when access would be available again or if there is an alternative way to download the imaging data.
It has taken me around one year to be able to get FWA and the DUC to be able to use HCP data and it is very disheartening to not be able to use the data after coming to the last step.

Thank you very much!

Best regards,
Sayani Banerjee

Hi Sayani,
We share your frustration with the outage of NDA's data packaging and download service that has lasted nearly 2 months. We have also asked NDA for updates and they won't give a timeline. Unfortunately, the NDA is the only source for the imaging data for the BCP and all other CCF projects so we are stuck waiting for NDA to resolve the problem. We will announce on this list when the services are back up.

Best,
Jenn

Dear Jennifer,
I am also struggling because of the NIH outage. However, for my project, using HCP Aging data,  for now I only need information on where participants were scanned and some demographic information, so no imaging. Is there any way of accessing these outside of the NDA?
Needless to say, I'm a registered user, with a FWA for my university.
Kind regards,
Olga

Hi Olga,
NDA is the only place we share the non-imaging data currently. Which release data are you planning to work with? There is a way to view (not download) the 2.0 released NDA structure data within the NDA UI that could give you some information. What demographics are you interested in?

Best,
Jenn

Hi Jennifer,
Thank you for your reply!
I'm working with LS2.0 and I'm missing the scanning site information and participants' education level.
Would these be accessible within the NDA UI?
Thanks!
Olga

Hi Olga,
select the HCP-Aging 2.0 Behavioral data, add it to workspace, submit to filter cart. Then click on Filter cart and click on the Create package/Add to Study button. Ignore the error message on the next page and scroll down. On the right the behavioral data structures are listed. You can click on the circled "i" button for each to see a preview of the data. You can adjust the preview to show all subjects and highlight all the data fields in the table (or just the columns you're interested in) to cut and paste it into a spreadsheet. The codes/descriptions for the variables are in the "Crosswalk" Data Dictionary for Behavioral data.

For education level, there are two variables you can look at. For site, there's one:
NDA structure                 NDA element
moca01                        moca_education
ssaga_cover_demo01      bkgrnd_education
ndar_subject01                site
