reduce resolution of the 32k_L_R surface mesh

Dear all,

I am using ciftify_anat and ciftify_fmri with the 32k_L_R mesh. I use then cifti_separate to separate the brain into left and right.
I load then into python with nib.load my functional file for the left and right hemisphere (...Atlas_s0.dtseries_CortexLeft.func.gii).
Would it be possible then to e.g. take the average of 16 surrounding voxels to reduce the resolution of 32k to 2k?

If you want to downsample data, you can use wb_command -surface-create-sphere (be sure to read the usage of this command carefully) and then wb_command -cifti-resample or -metric-resample.

2k is rather low resolution for human cortex.  What are you planning to do with it, and have you considered parcellation?

I will probably use something between 4k and 10k. I think voxel based analysis is better than parcellation analysis.
I am going to analyse dysconnective behaviour in various diseases.
