Dear HCP-Users,

I am writing to seek clarification regarding the cortical areas in the file Q1-Q6_RelatedValidation210.CorticalAreas_dil_Final_Final_Areas_Group_Colors.32k_fs_LR.dlabel.nii, which contains the 180-area per hemisphere HCP Multimodal Cortical Parcellation version 1.0 (HCP-MMP1.0) based on the extensive analysis of HCP data in Glasser et al. 2016.

Specifically, I would like to confirm:

  1. Which indices correspond to the right hemisphere primary somatosensory cortex (S1)?

From the provided SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION, I can see the following indices potentially related to S1:

  • Index 51 (Area 1)
  • Index 52 (Area 2)
  • Index 53 (Area 3a)
  • Index 9 ( Primary Sensory Cortex )

Could you please verify:

  • Are these the complete indices representing the right hemisphere S1?
  • Are there any additional indices that should be included in the S1 region?

Your insights would be greatly appreciated in helping me accurately interpret this neuroimaging data.

Thank you for your assistance,

Qian Chen

S1 is area 3a and area 3b.
