Hi HCP experts,

I have a question about how to choose the mesh file to calculate individual atlas surface area. First, I constructed individualized functional brain atlas using resting state data in fs_lr_32k MNI mesh (based on /MNINonLinear/Results/rfMRI_REST1_LR/rfMRI_REST1_LR_Atlas_hp2000_clean.dtseries.nii), and then converted the parcellation results into a label.gii file. Then, I want to use wb_command to calculate the area of each parcels area. When choosing the surface file, should I use the individualized space cortex file for each individualized atlas (Subject/T1w/fsaverage_LR32k/Subject.L.midthickness.32k_fs_LR.surf.gii) or the standard brain surface template file (Conte69.L.midthickness.32k_fs_LR.surf.gii) to calculate the area of individual parcels? By the way, calculating the area of individual atlas parcels are mainly to investigate the inter-individual variability characteristics of the transmodel and unimodel cortex. Thanks a lot.

Best regards,

You would use files in ${StudyFolder}/${Subject}/T1w/fsaverage_LR32k to compute areas and volumes in subject’s physical space.
