Hello everyone,

I am trying to compute overlap between the HCP-MMP1 and Destrieux atlases on the GR parcel. To do the overlap computation, it seems like I have to put the medial mask onto my resampled Destrieux. But when I do this I seem to either lose all the labels or the entire gyrus rectus becomes masked.

Any recommendations to get around this?

Thanks!

As someone who has been thinking about gyrus rectus since the Patient EVR / Damasio days (90s!), I must say -- quite unhelpfully, I might add -- that it was a delight to see this headline in my Saturday morning inbox. Good luck w/ the troubleshooting, Cooper!

Cheers,
Shackman

yeah, but EVR’s postoperative brain damage by far exceeded the gyrus rectus…

The dense (brainordinates) dimension of most cifti files has the medial wall already removed, this might be what you are experiencing.  If you instead resample or otherwise convert the MMP1.0 labels to the format your GR parcel is in, the medial wall masking shouldn't be carried with them.  You can also do -cifti-separate to extract cifti surface data to gifti format, which doesn't have an inherent mask (it represents every vertex).

I would have to know more about the details of your files and the commands you tried to know what is really going on.
