Good morning,

I hope this message finds you well. We are currently working on a project that requires using the HCP Lifespan data. However, we would like to have access to the SSAGA data. I have read that this data will be part of the Lifespan 3.0 release, which may occur in fall 2023. Do you have more information regarding this potential release? Is it still scheduled for fall 2023, and, if yes, do you have a rough idea of when it is going to happen? This information would help us draw up a provisional timeline for our project.

Thank you for your help!

Best,
Quentin

Hi Quentin,
We expect the Lifespan 3.0 Release to occur this fall, likely in November, unless there is some issue that arises.

Best,
Jenn

Thank you for the quick reply!
I would be very interested in the average time interval between V1-V2 and V2-V3?
I remember seeing a planned timeline on the website once, but I can't seem to find it at the moment...

I don't have final averages, but when we were scheduling HCP-Development the V1-V2 time was 15 months +/- 6 weeks and the V1-V3 time was 30 months +/- 6 weeks.
For HCP-Aging, V1-V2 was 22 months +/- 6 weeks.

Hello,

The new release for HCP-Aging will add 1199 new subjects? or that number is counting the already 725 available from release 2.0?

Hi Sina,
We are hoping for a February release, but the timing is in the hands of the NDA. We have started the process of preparing the release with them but are awaiting them for the next step that will allow us to verify that the data packages we will release contain the correct data.

Best,
Jenn

Hi everyone,

I hope this message finds you well.

I am reaching out to inquire about any updates regarding the release date. I am currently engaged in an analysis, currently based on release 2.0, and it seems that the upcoming release could significantly enhance the outcomes. Could you please provide an estimate for the release date or any information on when we can expect it?

Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Sina

Hello,

It's great to hear that Lifespan 3.0 is about to be released.
As far as I'm aware, the Lifespan 2.0 task fMRI data did not include the necessary .fsf files for the HCP Pipeline task analysis. I'm curious if these files will be included with the 3.0 release. If not, what would you recommend for obtaining these .fsf files? Do you suggest creating these files with FEAT ourselves?

We have some possible models that people can choose.  We’ll get those fsf templates into the HCPpipelines in GitHub at some point relatively soon.

Hi Sina,
Exact age in months will be included for all subjects in the LS 3.0 Release. We are waiting on the NDA to proceed with the release process and are therefore unsure when the release will occur.

Best,
Jenn

Hello,

That sounds great, looking forward to the upcoming data release this Feb.

Speaking of which, release 2.0 indicates individuals aged 90+ as 100 because it was considered PHI. I have read in the threads that there is now IRB approval to share the exact ages of those individuals. Do you know whether that information (chronological age of those above 90) will be included in release 3?

Thanks,
Sina

Hi Jenn,

Do you know if any of the following birth-control and hormone-related fields are going to be populated for the HCP-Aging Lifespan 3.0 release? They are in the "mchq01.txt" record but currently all empty.

mchq_36: "Do you currently use a hormonal contraceptive (oral, implant, patch, or hormone-secreting IUD) or are you on any hormone therapy?"
mchq_37: "If yes, please list contraceptive using the code below"
bcpever: "ever taken birth control pills or progesterone"
rlhq2q1: "Current use of ORAL contraceptive pills?"
bc_type: "What kind of birth control did you use?"
bc_type_specify: "Please specify the brand of pill, injection, IUD, implant, etc. you used:"
gynecological_hist_3*: additional hormone-related questions

Thanks!

Hi Keith,
We did not ask about birth control or contraception except in relation to the Straw 10 menopause questions that are already released in the mchq01 NDA structure. So we don't have data to populate the NDA elements you cite.

Jenn

Hi Stefano,
We have had another issue on the NDA side that we are told they are working on fixing. Unfortunately we have no control of their timing. We are expediting all the release steps on our side so there are no delays from our end. Hopefully the release date will be in a few weeks.

Good morning everyone,
I was wondering if there are any updates on the release of the HCP Lifespan 3.0.
Specifically, I would like to have confirmation that the dataset will be released within this month, as previously told me.
Thanks in advance for your help and support!

Hi Jennifer,
Thank you very much for the update.
Since the time for my project is running out, I would like to know if there have been any updates on the new data release date. Alternatively, is there anyone on the NDA side to contact to ask them if they have a planned release time?
Thank you again for your patience and kindness

Hi Bram and all,
As you've probably learned by now,  it is hard for us to give an accurate estimate due to the steps we have to coordinate with NDA. However, the list of remaining steps is smaller and I now have some bandwidth to push them to get those tasks done and that can help.

We are also working on an alternative way to share HCA data particularly, which we are hoping to use soon pending some regulatory sign off. Stay tuned, hopefully we'll have some good news in the next several weeks.

Best,
Jenn

Hi Guilia,

The descriptive text before that set of answers says:

A. Have you ever taken any medications prescribed to you by a doctor for 12 months or longer for the following reasons:

DO NOT COUNT OTC. (over the counter medications)

Then for mh6a6 6. Women Only: For birth control?

We will add that contextual information back into the data dictionary as the descriptive variable mh6a.

Best,

Jenn

Hi Jenn,

Does variable mh6a6 refer to ‘ever used’ or ‘currently using’ birth control in the new release?

Thanks to the whole team for HCA and AABC that has worked very hard to develop and make the switch to ConnectomeDB powered by BALSA!

We hope the community enjoys analyzing the data. We encourage everyone to share their resulting work as studies on BALSA linked to their publications.

Best,
Jenn
