Hello,

I wanted to make sure that I have completed everything needed in order to gain access/permission to use the AABC Release 1 HCP-Aging/AABC Dataset that released on 10/27/25. I have created/registered for a BALSA Account, agreed to the AABC data use terms, and have downloaded ASPERA Connect.

Is there anything else that needs to be done, or any other required Data Use Agreements/ Data Use Certification (DUC) similar to NDA. I apologize if I overlooked any obvious steps as I am a newer graduate student and wanted to make sure everything was in order before I attempted to download the data.

All the best,
Zach

Hi Zach,

We have put a lot of effort into the data use terms and access process to be streamlined and encourage broad use of the data as has been our experience with data sharing for HCP-YA. In addition to what you noted, if have installed the Aspera Connect plugin on your browser and set the transfer location to a filesystem location with sufficient space, it sounds like you have completed everything you need to access the UI and download the imaging and non-imaging data.

If other people in your lab will be using the data, we encourage each person to register for BALSA and agree to the terms before they get started.

All this said, we are experiencing a major filesystem outage currently that is affecting Aspera-facilitated imaging downloads. We expect this to be resolved by Monday November 24. Non-imaging and smaller downloads in the “Files” tab are still working.

Best,

Jenn
