We are pleased to announce the release of v4.3.0 of the HCP scripts. This version of the pipelines is being used for processing of HCP Aging, HCP Development, and Connectomes Related to Human Disease data going forward.

Notable changes and features of v4.3.0

Main new features:

  • Added generation of a Workbench scene for Structural QC and fMRI QC (with some automatically generated snapshots)
  • Added option for distortion correction using Philips fieldmaps
  • Added option to DiffPreproc (--select-best-b0) to select the "best" (least-distorted) for each phase-encoding direction as input to topup

Other additions:

  • Added options in DeDriftAndResample to extract a subset of the runs from multi-run FIX into a new concatenated series
  • Added a single mode of RSNregression, to apply just temporal regression
  • Added option to OneStepResampling (--wb-resample) for future wb_command -volume-resample resampling of timeseries (to replace slow fslsplit/convertwarp/applywarp/fslmerge code). Not enabled yet, as not yet supported by public Workbench release.

Bug fixes/changes:

  • Fix incorrect column header names in stats file (MissingGrayordinates.2.txt) that quantifies overlap between subject ROIs and Atlas
  • 91282 template updated to cifti-2 format
  • Some minor diffusion bug fixes/enhancements
  • Catch command errors in DeDriftAndResample

The HCP Pipelines are a set of tools (primarily, but not exclusively, shell scripts) for processing MRI images for the Human Connectome Project . For v4.3.0 of the HCP Pipelines, we recommend installation of FSL 6.0.4, FreeSurfer v6.0 (Not v7.X), and Connectome Workbench v1.4.2. See the Installation and Usage Instructions in the GitHub repository for detailed information on prerequisite software versions, installation and processing instructions, example data, and processing resource requirements.  Answers to frequently asked questions can also be found on our Github Repository: HCP Pipeline FAQ.

Best,

HCP Consortium and Connectome Coordination Facility
