To Whom It May Concern,
Since the update on the HumanConnectomeDB website on October 1, I was having difficulties with downloading data that I needed. Previously, when downloading each subject MRI data, I downloaded what was called “Resting State Fixed Denoised”. Unfortunately, it is no longer available in the new version. Is there any way I am misunderstanding or overlooking? Thank you!

Best regards,

Hi Liliya,

That package is no longer available on ConnectomeDB Powered by BALSA in the 2025 release. We recommend using the data with improved processing that is available in the Resting State Recommended package.

The 2017 S1200 release data is still available on Amazon S3 if you have access keys. We will be adding the create access keys function to BALSA in coming months.

Best,

Jenn

Hi Liliya,

We are no longer distributing the Resting State Fixed Denoised (ICA-FIX rfMRI) packages with the 2025 release. This is because we have improved the processing, including addition of Reclean (improvements to spatial ICA) and Temporal ICA pipelines and processed output for all fMRI data. We encourage you to use the new 2025 released rfMRI preprocessed packages for your analyses, but remember to NOT mix data from the 2017 S1200 release with the 2025 release.

The only place the older data are available is the HCP Amazon S3 Open Datasets bucket. The now-retired ConnectomeDB had an AWS key-generation function needed to access the S3 bucket. If you were able to generate AWS keys when the platform was active you can still use them. We do plan to implement S3 key generation in BALSA in the next couple of months, but it is not operational now.

Best,

Jenn

Thank you so much for your reply! I have one more quick question. Previously, we were able to filter subjects based on emotions  (as well as other criteria), and I am not seeing it on the new version. Is it fully gone or am I just not seeing this? Than you so much, again.
Best regards,
Liliya G.

Hi Liliya,
Click on the Column Selector at the top right to browse categories and select variables to view in the UI. You can filter data values at the top of each variable column. When you filter on one or more non-imaging variables the resulting subject group is applied to the imaging packages you can queue for download. The Export CSV button allows you to download the non-imaging data for the selected group.

Best,
Jenn
