I also would not recommend using HCP data as NIFTI volumes. It has been acquired and processed differently to maximize spatial and temporal resolution. It is not really intended to be used with volume-based methods, which have 3-fold poorer spatial localization:

Also the AAL atlas has little if anything to do with brain function. The HCP made a multi-modal cortical parcellation for you to use with this data:

Overall if you are planning to use the HCP data, now is a good time to upgrade your analysis methods.
