Re:     Notice of Temporary Water Service Interruption

Affected Area: Cedar Street from Main Street to A Street

Please be advised that a temporary interruption of water service is scheduled as part of ongoing utility construction work associated with the 48–52 Main Street project.

Date: Monday, June 15th 2026

Time: 10:00 P.M. to 5:00 A.M.

Affected Area: Cedar Street from Main Street to A Street

The water service interruption is necessary to allow the contractor to complete a new sewer connection that requires modifications to the existing water main. Every effort will be made to minimize the duration of the shutdown and restore service as quickly as possible.

Residents and businesses in the affected area are encouraged to prepare by performing duties that require water on June 15th before the water is shut off at 10:00 P.M.

Once water service is restored, customers may experience temporary discoloration, cloudy water, or air in the water lines. If this occurs, please run cold water from a faucet for several minutes until the water clears.

We apologize for any inconvenience this necessary work may cause and appreciate your patience and cooperation as we complete these infrastructure improvements.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Water Department at 508-497-9765.

Call Police dispatch at 508-497-3401 to get in contact with Water Dept staff during the overnight work.

Re: Cancellation of Temporary Water Service Interruption

Affected Area: Cedar Street from Main Street to A Street

Please be advised that the water main work on Cedar Street, originally scheduled to take place overnight on Monday, June 15, 2026, has been CANCELLED.

Due to recent design modifications for the 52 Main Street project, overnight water main work is no longer necessary within Cedar Street. This change eliminates the need for the service interruption previously scheduled for the night of June 15th.

We thank you for your patience and understanding.

PUBLIC NOTICE

Please be advised that due to a mechanical failure, Wells #7 and #8 will be taken offline while a contractor installs a new pump in Well #7. Weather permitting, this work is scheduled to begin on Monday, June 22nd. We anticipate that both wells will remain out of service for approximately six days.

This serves as an important reminder that the Town remains under a Mandatory State of Water Supply Conservation. During this period, all outdoor non-essential water use is prohibited for customers connected to the municipal water system until the Mandatory Action is terminated.

This Mandatory Action is authorized under Town Bylaws, Chapter 199, Article II – Restricted Water Uses.

With two of our wells offline, it is critical that all customers comply with the water restrictions to help ensure an adequate water supply is available for essential uses, public health, and fire protection.

If you are connected to the municipal water supply and have an irrigation system, it must be turned off.

We appreciate your cooperation, patience, and understanding while this necessary work is completed.
