Notice from the  Town Manager's Office, DPW,  and the Emergency Management Director:

We have seen a dramatic increase in water use over the past week and especially during the current heat wave.  Crews out canvassing the town have found a large number of lawn sprinklers running. We would like to remind everyone that there is no lawn watering or non-essential outdoor use as specified on our website. It is IMPERATIVE that everyone immediately adheres to these restrictions.  With the current demand, all our sources are barely maintaining our tank levels and extended pump times are stressing our wells contributing to increases in water discoloration.  We need to fill the tanks to allow our wells time to recharge and to have water available for firefighting capabilities.  The current demand is not sustainable with our available infrastructure and request your cooperation as we try to ensure safe, reliable drinking water for the community.

We thank you for your attention to this very important matter!
