The Town of Hopkinton is seeking a Part-Time Van Driver to provide transportation for our Senior Center programs. This role helps Hopkinton’s seniors stay connected by providing rides to weekly shopping trips, activities, and occasional day trips.

Salary: $19.25 to $30.00 hourly, depending on qualifications

Typical schedule will be Tuesdays and Road trips (less than 19 hours/week).  

You may also be asked to substitute as needed.


Under the direction of the Senior Services Director, the Van Driver provides transportation services for the Town’s Senior population.  This important role to the community allows the senior population to complete weekly shopping and attend a wide range of activities offered by the Hopkinton Senior Center, including occasional day trips to fun destinations. The role includes assisting with loading packages onto and off the vehicle, keeping relevant records, and reporting vehicle maintenance. Several mandated classes are required upon hire.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Clean driving record required. Up to one year of driving experience is preferred. Prior experience working with senior citizens is preferred.


Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: 

  • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle in accordance with Massachusetts regulations.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff and provide exceptional customer service to the public.

  • Must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds.


Licensing/Certifications: 

  • Valid U.S. Driver’s license and good excellent driving record.

  • Ability to obtain CPR certification upon hire
