The Town of Hopkinton seeks a (Drug Free Communities) Coalition Coordinator.

Hiring Salary: $54,503.20 to $76,313.95 Annually, depending on qualifications

40-hours/week


This position will implement the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Drug-Free Communities Grant Program in partnership with Hopkinton Organizing for Prevention (HOP) Youth Substance Use Prevention Coalition. The Drug-Free Communities (DFC) Coalition Coordinator oversees the Drug-Free Communities grant program through planning and research and assists the coalition in identifying evidence-based strategies to reduce youth substance use according to the mission. This includes engaging strong community support and collaborative partnerships with other agencies. The DFC Coalition Coordinator will work to ensure the coalition continues to effectively mobilize the community in the reduction of underage substance use and the overall improvement of behavioral health. 


QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Training, and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Public Policy or Social work and three (3) to five (5) years of experience in community organization and engagement with at least three (3) years of progressively responsible coalition experience, program development, work in the human services, work with adolescents and their caregivers, racial equity and social justice, or teaching; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Grant writing and budget management experience.


Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in Public Health, Public Policy, or Social Work (Macro focus/elective coursework). 

Coalition Leadership experience.

Primary prevention experience related to alcohol, drugs, or tobacco (nicotine) or related concerns (obesity, health promotion, gambling, etc.)

Ability to speak a second language.


Licensing/Certification:

U.S. Driver’s License Required

Certified Prevention Specialist or ability to obtain within the first 2 years of hire.
