The Finance Administrative Assistant provides administrative and clerical support to the Treasurer/Collector and Principal Assessor’s Offices, serving as a key customer service contact for residents, employees, and other departments. The role includes processing payments and transactions, maintaining accurate records, scheduling appointments, assisting with reports, and supporting daily financial operations in a cooperative, fast-paced environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Equivalency and three to five years of office/clerical/related experience or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Associates degree in Accounting or related field Preferred. Municipal experience Preferred.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
Knowledge of: general administration and contemporary office practices.
Ability to: communicate effectively orally and in writing with various audiences including public officials and the general public; handle multiple tasks, determine priorities and meet deadlines in fast paced office environment; maintain accurate and detailed records; maintain knowledge and skill in utilizing software programs; recognize Department priorities and work cooperatively and collaboratively to support their accomplishment.
Skill: organizational, writing, interpersonal/collaborative communication, resourcefulness and discretion; computer skills that encompass effective use of word processing, spreadsheet, accounting, email and internet browser software; Proficiency with computers and Google G-Suite. Patriot CAMA System and MUNIS Preferred.
