Your feedback will help inform future public health programs, services, and initiatives. The survey closes July 17.

Hurricane Season is Underway

June 1 marked the official start of the Atlantic hurricane season. Eversource, the Town’s electricity and gas provider, has shared a printable checklist so that we can take simple, proactive steps to prepare homes and families, and to stay informed about what to do before, during and after a storm.

I have also attached the checklist to this email.

Building Bright Brains

Hopkinton Organizing for Prevention (HOP) has teamed up with coalitions from Holliston, Medway, Medfield & Wayland to bring you the Building Bright Brains campaign! This positive, action-oriented strategy educates and empowers families to support the brain development of youth. The major messages we strive to share: The Brain Continues Developing Until Age 25. The campaign is currently focused on Family Meals, Healthy Relationships & Staying Active while Limiting Screens. To bring attention to this very important message and campaign, Superintendent of Schools Evan Bishop participated in a video with other town leaders in the regional partnership. In addition to social media content, a virtual event took place for parents as part of the campaign. To view a recording of the event, featuring Jessica Lahey, use the QR code in the flyer below.

From MassWildlife:

How does wildlife beat the heat?

When temperatures climb, our local wildlife use different methods to stay cool, including wardrobe changes, striking a pose, bizarre bodily functions, and a change of scenery. Free archery classes

If you're new to archery, MassWildlife has free classes to help you sharpen your skills this summer. We'll teach you the basics and help you practice on the range. Click this link for more information: https://www.mass.gov/news/archery-classes

Bog Plants:

Bogs are among our most mysterious ecosystems, home to plants specially adapted to survive in harsh conditions. Because bogs are fragile and difficult to access, few people get to see these remarkable species in the wild.
