Creator Space at the Library - Grand Opening - Sunday, October 5
The Hopkinton Public Library is pleased to announce the grand opening of its new CreatorSpace on Sunday, October 5. The CreatorSpace is a room for adults and young adults ages ten and up to explore arts, crafts, and technology. Learn how to sew, explore the joys of paper quilling, or rediscover your knack for wood burning.
Library patrons can find the CreatorSpace in the lower level of the library, where the Classroom was. The Library will be hosting a “Meet The Space” event on Sunday, October 5 from 1pm to 3pm. Library patrons will see a selection of the equipment, meet the librarian who coordinated the setup of the CreatorSpace, and make their very first CreatorSpace craft.
Registration for free CreatorSpace memberships will start on Monday, October 6th. A CreatorSpace Card will be required for Creatorspace use. Cards are available for patrons ages ten through adult. Patrons ages ten through seventeen will need a parent’s or guardian’s signature for use of the space.
The CreatorSpace will be open at scheduled times for Drop-In Craft Hours and for Workshops. Library patrons should check the library calendar for these events.
The CreatorSpace was generously funded by the Hopkinton Public Library Foundation. A $10,000 grant from the Foundation covered costs of the furniture and equipment necessary to outfit the space. Find out more about the Hopkinton Public Library Foundation at hplfinc.org.

Learn About Dementia
The final 2025 Dementia Friends Information Session will be held at the Hopkinton Center for the Arts at 7 pm on Monday, November 3. These sessions are open to residents of all cities and towns. Sponsored by the Council on Aging, Hopkinton has hosted and facilitated 26 sessions in the past 4 years which have resulted in 400 new Dementia Friends. I have attended a session, and left informed and knowledgeable about dementia, and the information is presented in a relaxed and friendly environment. There are also a couple of daytime sessions on October 7 and 16 at the Library, please see the information below.
