From the Trails Committee

Improvements to the Echo Trail parking lot were completed in May. The surface was smoothed, the parking area was expanded, and a couple of granite benches were added. Echo Trail is a .6 mile, flat stone dust trail through the woods that you enter on Granite Street, just off of Hayden Rowe. It’s suitable for easy walks and running, and for bikes, strollers, and wheelchairs.

This open space land was acquired by the Town in 2015 with Community Preservation Act funds, and is managed by the Open Space Preservation Commission. A Conservation Restriction on the land is held by the Hopkinton Area Land Trust. The trail is in the location of an old railroad that once ran through this area.

Flag Raising Event

image.jpeg

The Hopkinton Freedom Team, Hopkinton students, members of the Select Board, and others attended a Juneteenth and Pride flag raising event at Town Hall on June 2. Student speakers Anjali Kannan and Felix Berry read essays about the significance of the flags and how the themes of identity, freedom and justice show up in their lives. The students' messages were inspiring!
