Last week three Hopkinton Organizing for Prevention (HOP) youth members attended the CADCA (Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America) National Youth Leadership Forum in National Harbor, MD. Anna Noroian, Hopkinton High School Sophomore (pictured left), Neha Ninan, Hopkinton High School Sophomore (pictured middle), and Maura Souza, Hopkinton High School Senior (pictured right) attended this four day long Youth Leadership Summit.

This Summit offered interactive training sessions specifically for young coalition leaders who are looking to be more engaged in their coalitions and communities. Experts from the field and other youth leaders trained youth from across the nation on personal and professional prevention development skills.

During this time, our students also had the opportunity to meet and speak with Massachusetts United States Senator, Edward Markey and United States Representative Jim McGovern (pictured below). They talked with them about current trends and concerns surrounding mental health and substance use in our community. We are so proud of these Hopkinton students and their advocacy work.
