Trails Day Celebration - July 19
The Hopkinton Trails Club is marking its 20th anniversary this year with a Trails Day Celebration on Saturday, July 19 at the Hughes Farm property (192 Hayden Rowe), from 10AM to 1PM. There will be guided trail & nature walks, a scavenger hunt, trail information & advice, and more. As a group or individual with an interest in the trails, the Trails Club invites you to join them in celebrating Hopkinton’s trails and open spaces.
The Hughes Farm property is owned by the Town of Hopkinton and is preserved in perpetuity. It was expanded in 2024 with the Town’s purchase of the adjacent Colella property. The property includes a portion of the old railroad bed, and a stream that is the headwaters of the Charles River. The acquisition of both properties were funded by the Town with Community Preservation Act funds, which were approved by Town Meeting. The land is managed by the Open Space Preservation Commission.
Climate Resilience Open House - July 24
You’re invited to get involved in the Town's ongoing planning for impacts from climate change at the Hopkinton Public Library anytime between 5:30 - 7:30 on Thursday, July 24th to learn about recommendations for updating the Town’s bylaws and provide feedback to shape how our town prepares for future impacts of climate change. This is an important next step in implementing Hopkinton’s Climate Action Plan. This collaborative event will involve co-learning with Town staff and climate resilience planners about how small changes in local laws and policies can make a big difference in sustainability and safety. This community–wide open house is a family friendly pop–in event. There will be food and fun for all ages.
When: Thursday, July 24 | 5:30–7:30 pm EST (Note on timing: This is not a linear event, so feel free to drop in at any point during that window.)
Where: Hopkinton Public Library, 13 Main St, Hopkinton
Please RSVP through Eventbrite.
