Legal Notice – Town of Hopkinton, Massachusetts
Sealed bids for construction of Hayden Rowe Street Water Main Improvements for the Town of Hopkinton, Massachusetts, will be received by the Department of Public Works for the Town of Hopkinton, MA, through Projectdog at www.projectdog.com, until 2:00 pm (according to Verizon time), on Thursday, March 11, 2021. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the bids will be opened by the Director of Public Works and the results will be posted within 5 business days on www.projectdog.com . Bonds shall be submitted in person at 83 Wood Street, Hopkinton MA, at the receptionist desk or dropbox by the main entry door prior to the date and time of receipt of bids.
The scope of work includes construction of approximately 5,000 linear feet of 8-inch ductile iron water main and appurtenances, transfer of water services, replacement of all non-plastic water services, installation and removal of hydrants, and installation of construction, temporary, and permanent trench pavements.
The Contractor shall commence work under this contract on or before a date to be fixed in the written “Notice to Proceed” given by the Owner to the Contractor and shall not commence onsite work until after April 19, 2021 or after the last day that students are attending all Hopkinton Public Schools in-person for the 2020-2021 school year. Work shall be substantially complete within 90 days from the date that construction commences, excluding final paving. Substantial completion shall occur on or before October 31, 2021. Final paving shall commence after July 1, 2022 and shall be complete prior to August 31, 2022.

Hard copies of the documents may also be viewed, but not removed, from the offices of Projectdog Inc., 18 Graf Road - Unit 8, Newburyport, MA 01950, Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Addenda, if issued, will be posted to the Projectdog website and shall be accompanied by e-mail notification to every individual or firm on record as having received the Bid Documents. It shall be the sole responsibility of the Contractor to ascertain the existence of any and all addenda. Hard copies of addenda will not be mailed or faxed.
The selected contractor shall furnish a performance bond and a payment bond in amount at least equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price as stipulated in Section 00700 GENERAL CONDITIONS of these specifications.
All bids for this project are subject to applicable bidding laws of Massachusetts, including General Laws Chapter 30, Section 39M as amended.
Prevailing Wage Rates as determined by the Director of the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development under the provisions of the Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 149, Section 26 to 27H, as amended, apply to this project. It is the responsibility of the Bidder, before bid opening, to request if necessary, any additional information on Prevailing Wage Rates for those trades people who may be employed for the proposed work under this contract.
The Bidder agrees that this bid shall be good and may not be withdrawn for a period of 60 days, Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays excluded after the opening of bids.
The Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all bids.
